Prenatal Anxiety/Depression
Women who have never experienced Depression or Anxiety in the past often experience symptoms before the arrival of the baby. Pregnant women are faced with many challenges that include weight gain, morning sickness and mood swings. While anxiety and stress are common during pregnancy, it is not a healthy side effect of pregnancy.  Warning signs and symptoms of Prenatal Anxiety include:

   
 
  • Ritualistic behaviors as a way of dealing with anxieties.
  • Shakiness
  • Trembling
  • Muscle aches
  • Sweating
  • Cold/clammy hands
  • Dizziness
  • Jitteriness
  • Tension
  • Fatigue
  • Racing/pounding heart

Warning signs and symptoms of Prenatal Depression include:

   
 
  • Sleeping and eating disturbances
  • Overwhelmed with sadness and emotion
  • Feelings of inadequacy
  • Crying that lasts for days
  • Intense fatigue
  • Feeling of hopelessness and helplessness
  • Lack of motivation or loss of interest in yourself and your

Symptoms include feeling tired, appetite changes and poor sleep. However if the things you do everyday are affected, consider seeking help.
